Why Polish migrants are working for "nothing " in UK?

Polish migrants are working for very low rates and are taking our jobs? Because of them I can't get well paid jobs any more? If your company hires one Polish guy he will bring in 10's or 100's more and you will lose your job or you have to works as Poles for "nothing".I have nothing against Polish people, it’s just because of them I’ve been forced to quit or to be more precise I was kicked out from my jobs in 2 companies?

Why Polish migrants are working for "nothing " in UK?
To a point you are correct, sure they have driven down wages and made it difficult for a British person to accept a job on such a low wage. But maybe the real cause is those lazy Brits who refuse to work (I'm not saying you are one of these) and use doctors sick note saying they cant work, or fail to seriously go looking for work, or refuse to take a job saying they are better off on the doll. I must admit the Polls are prepared to work and have been proved to be reliable, so maybe its time for those lazy Brits to have their sick notes or doll money stopped and made to get out there and work. And employers made to pay a decent living wage for this country.
Reply:As Poland is now part of the EU, they won't be working for nothing, they will be receiving the minimum wage. (If not, you can report the employer).

They're here because the minimum wage over here is considerably more than it would be back home (even well educated people in jobs you may see as highly paid in the UK are often better off doing a lower skilled job here than a high skilled job back home)

In which case, if your employer is getting better/more qualified employees, as the same rate as they pay you, why would they continue to employ you?

Maybe you should look into getting yourself some training so that you are not as easily replaceable, or just working harder - sorry to be the bearer or bad news, but any employer is going to want to get a job done by the most keen/well trained people.

The reality of life is that if you're working in an area where the competition for jobs is tough, you need to make yourself more employable. Polish or not, if somebody else wants to do that job more than you do, you will be vulnerable.
Reply:Apparently even our minimum wage is five time more than they get at home. Thats why they work for it.

And to the idiot above who suggested "getting training" to make you less easily replaceable, well perhaps she'd like to explain how exactly to go about that when most of the decent training courses available (such as Computeach, Instructor College) charge over £2,000 for their courses which makes them unaffordable to the average low paid workers (they credit check before they allow you to "spread" payments so many people who have had financial difficulties will not be accepted). My partner is an unskilled van driver and his company don't bother training their drivers to do better paid HGV work etc these days because of the flood of EU migrants willing to work for peanuts.

Unfortunately, many of these migrants have subsequently been found to have forged or invalid licences which puts the safety of the public at risk. But the company would rather hire a Pole with a dodgy licence than invest money in "Training their own" so just how the hell is a young worker supposed to get on in the UK these days?!
Reply:where i work. i used to get paid for over time at the rate of time and a half. that was for anything over my 40 hours. then the poles arrived. overtime rates were stopped. the poles continued to work for 60 hours at flat rate. i suggested to a few of them that if they didnt work, the overtime rate would be restored but they shrugged and said its ok. maybe it is ok for them but not for me so i dont work overtime anymore and i lose out. so if anyone wants to know why i will spit on the immigrants its because they have taken part of my income and i resent that in a big way.

edit i suppose my thumbs down was from dinnerlady who is obviously an immigrant.

why? if the poles are so good, cant they make their own country good?
Reply:i worked next to a firm who employed polish welders and they was cheap employment concidering welders rates but they f*cked up jobs because they couldnt read the plans as they was in english and this cost the firm money many arguments took place mainly because english welders had to sort out their polish collegues problems thus loosing the bonus or having to work harder to compensate

it shows that its ok for cheap polish labour but sometimes it comes at a price
Reply:dont worry son.. their all going

... problem is right.. that us brits are a bunch of lazyy cuntss.... theres LOTS of jobs.. no ones stealing any jobs... its just that the poles are doing the work we dont like... its simple as that my friend... if you want a job, you can easily get one.

oh.. and they work 10 times harder then us... so ... i'd rather employ them TOO
Reply:In response to this "uprising", buy a house in poland, take up a low-paid job in the UK and be the one-eyed man in the kingdom of the blind. At British Nationality salary, you could probably buy an entire Polish apartment block.
Reply:My ex company finds them homes, gives them uniforms, when I had to pay for mine. Taxi's them to and from work. I had to get two busses and a metro, which took 1 and a half hours. The whole family come.
Reply:if you was black you'd get a job straight away. tell your next employees you have polish roots and you'll get a job. welcome to ethnic england love.
Reply:The Polish I have met are not working any cheaper than any other nationality. The only difference I have noticed is that the Polish work hard,, and never seem to doss or take it easy.
Reply:They get paid much more in the UK then they ever will in Poland.
Reply:And our maternity wards are burting at he seems, with pregnant immigrants..Britian is no longer great..get us out of Europe.
Reply:'Poverty' back home, money is still better than they get in Poland. Sad fact of life.
