Do you think Polish people are gay friendly?

I am myself 100 % Polish but gays are OK for me as long as they are not too much feminine, I mean as long as they stay men. Well, generally I accept gay people and I count on character. I even think I of myself as gay or bisexual and I even feel horny when I look into guy's eyes. But I think that may gay Poles just hide they are gay and identify themselves as straight. Poland is country that is politically religious. Catholic Church there has strong influence on people and even government as long as government is not post-communist. Officially Catholic Church is supposed to accept homosexuality though it does not accept homosexual practices and gay marriages. There was a situation where even one very old 80 years old conservative priest at a local Polish church spoke against homosexuals so that I would say he discriminated which was very bad to hear that. It was once in MA but never in Chicago. I know some Polish have good opinion and some bad. What do you think about Polish people?

Do you think Polish people are gay friendly?
I think Polish people are like every-body else, individuals.

Reply:Just because Your POlish doesnt mean that your of a gay nature. Everyone is themselves. But you never know there might be some gay polish guys. Report It

Reply:I'm polish and I totally disapprove of it........ Report It

Reply:Given that most Polish people are Catholic, and given that most Fundamentalist Protestants and Catholics are very hostile to gays, I wouldn't tend to conclude that most Poles would be likely to be gay-friendly.
Reply:I think that the polisch people are pretty acepting but it takes balls to come out just like in Germany that's where I live it first hand! It also depends on your situation and environment....
Reply:I think polish people are generally very open and generous of nature. At least the ones I've known were. But you're right, many, maybe most are good Catholics, so they don't approve of gay sex or gay marriage, but they are open to working with and being friends with gay people.

The attitudes towards homosexuality are much more liberal in most of Europe than in most of the U.S. As Polish Americans become more Americanized, they may pick up some American prejudices too.
Reply:Dunno, I don't like prejudices too much so I'm quiet. Of course some have a good and others a bad opinion about whatnot lol.
Reply:I don't think that they are very gay friendly.
Reply:No, it's not gay-friendly at all.

In Europe, Poland is seen by everyone as the most hostile country to gay people, especially expressed in polls and at government level. (the speeches by the coallition even suggested the will to expell gay people from highscholls and university)

Furthermore, the Church in Poland resembles more Fundamentalism in American Christianity than the churches in other European Countries.
