Nail polish as wart remover?

I read somewhere that applying clear nail polish to plantar's warts will get rid of them. Has anyone tried this and had it work? Do you peel off the dried nail polish and a much of the wart before you apply a new layer or do you just keep putting on nail polish until it dissolves or falls off?

Or do you have any other effective, non-surgical ways of removing warts?

Nail polish as wart remover?
It does work, on small warts. You just keep painting on the polish until the wart disappears. Reason being, warts need air, by smothering them with the nail polish, you basically suffocate them.
Reply:ok this may seem really weird but my boyfriend had warts on his hands and his doctor told him to put duct tape over them untill they are gone, my boyfriends re completely gone, he started to notice a difference in the size of the wart after a couple days.... it works
Reply:nail polish does not work. you can buy wart removing products at any drugstore, look for products with high amount of salicylic acid.
Reply:i would ot use nail polish for that..go to your local grocery store or pharmacy and get the warm remover ..called..freez off..it works my brother used it..try to keep your hands clean and dont mess with them as much as possible cause they spread to other fingers and parts of your body if your not carefull
Reply:The best way to remove a wart without paying for the doctor is using dried ice. This is the same thing doctors use!

Just be careful, of course! Apply the ice carefully (it burns!!) to the infected area once or twice a week until it's gone.

My friend had a very big stubborn wort for man, at least 10 years and removed it herself this way! I'd try fingernail polish and duct tape FIRST though, but if lack of air isn't enough to do the trick why pay the doctor to do something you can do yourself?
