I spilled a good amount of bright red nail polish on my black leather car seat. Any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging the leather. I considered nail polish remover, but afraid it will damage the leather. Not that it could be any worse than red nail polish!
Removing nail polish from leather?
If you have fingernail polish try acetate. Blot the chemical onto the nail polish spot using a Q tip trying not to touch the leather with the acetate and then blot with a towel and repeat, keep on doing this until stain is gone (will take a long time)

Reply:This will almost certainly remove the top finsih on the leather which will leave the leather exposed and then destroy the leather itself over time. Report It
Reply:You may be lucky and find that it peels off depending what type of leather you have. If it does it may still leave a mark or remove the colour.
Nail varnish remover will definitely remove the pigment from your suite as well as the nail varnish, you will then have another difficult problem to resolve. No available cleaners for leather will remove this type of damage so you have to resort to solvents which like the nail varnish remover will remove pigment. Therfore this is a job for a trained leather technician.
