Nail polish on the phone..and manufacterers warranty??

i put nail polish poka dots on my cell phone to make it look nicer, and when i took it the Verizong store to get it looked at, they said they couldnt do any repairs on it because the manufacturer's warranty was made void because of the nail polish on my phone..why did it become void?? its just nail polish.

Nail polish on the phone..and manufacterers warranty??
Cellphone manufacturers have this clause in their warranty to only cover defects and from normal wear and tear. If you drop it, paint it, get it wet, crack it, smash it... etc. it would not be considered normal use, but abuse. Some phones have skins or covers that you can buy, and not void any warranty's. You should consider one of these on your future phone(s). Sorry about your phone, hope that helps clear anything up.
Reply:Because in their eyes, that nail polish could have easily slipped between the cracks and caused moisture damage to your phone. For instance, I have seen where people have removed the original faceplates off of their phone to put a stylish one on. In this case, a lot of times you have to remove a screw. One you do that, warranty is voided.

That normally falls under user damage.

Sorry.
Reply:Most warranties will become voided by almost any modification, even if it is just cosmetic.
