I have a few favorite colors of nail polish and I've used them so much that now it takes a long time to get the color on the nailbrush. I know there is still color in the bottle, but the brush is too short to get it out. Without buying a new bottle of polish are there any of suggestions for how to continue using the polish?
Nail Polish Question?
It's best to just throw it out. By the time it gets to the point you have mentioned, the polish has thickened out and not worth using. I've tried to thin it out using nail polish remover but that doesn't really work.
Reply:The lady that does my nails actually has some nail polish 'thinner' that helps thin out those thick polishes. That might work on making yours last longer!
Reply:NO WATER !!
I found this:
to thin out old, thickened polish, use a nail polish thinner -- a special solution that you add directly to your nail polish bottle. it will help prolong the life of the thickened polish. you can find thinners at a drugstore or beauty supply store. i recommend seche restore (at beauty supply stores) because it does not contain acetone (the ingredient commonly found in nail polish removers).
Reply:you could tip a little bit of the nail polish in the cap. then instead of trying to get the nail polish out of the tube, you could just dip the brush in the cap. i always do this when the brush wont reach the polish.
Reply:put some nailpolish remover in the bottle then shake it really good then try to get some nailpolish out if you still cant then put some more nailpolish remover
Reply:Tip the container on its side when it is not in use. The polish will be easier to get out since it is closer towards the top of the container.
Reply:Try putting the cap back on and shaking the bottle. I too have run low on very nice colors and this technique works great!!
Reply:don't use water...nail polish will NOT absorb water. (don't listen to idiot men)...tip the bottle on it's side a bit or all the way over, if there isn't much in it...the polish will run to the side and you can get the brush in it.
Reply:try a q-tip. or an actual paint brush.
Reply:Add nail polish thinner.
Reply:Try 2-3 drops of nail polish remover in the bottle to loosen it up.
Reply:pour the nail polish out onto something that you don't mind getting stained
and dip it in like a paint brush

Reply:The remains of nail polish in your bottle have began to harden. Pour a little (and I mean very little) amount of nail polish remover into the bottle, this will make the nail polish lossen up and become more liquidy (I know it's not a word). Tip the bottle slightly and dip your brush in. Good for you on saving money.
Reply:put a little water in the bottles maybe? water will spread it out..
