Nail polish on a man? Revisited.?

It simply amazes me why so many find it %26quot;offense%26quot;, %26quot;gay%26quot;, %26quot;stupid%26quot; or a desperate act of a confused man to war nail polish... or any other act which society has labeled as %26quot;feminine%26quot;.

What logical argument can someone give that defines a man as such for wearing nail polish? That is what%26#039;s stupid. If people are so entrapped by social stereotypes - I would certainly say they are the ones that need counseling.

I also find it amusing that the stats show that a high percent of men are the nay-sayers when it comes to guys wearing nail polish. I again point out the social anxiety and lack of confidence - let alone a sense of illusioned sense of homophobia.

I wear polish frequently. I am completely heterosexual. I am not confused - nor am I in need of counseling. For crying out loud - I simply chose my own style regardless of whatever stereotypes are out there.

Why is it alright to wear jeans? boots? gloves? make-up? pony-tails? tattoos? piercings?

Welcome to humanism.

Nail polish on a man? Revisited.?
Way to go. Not only expressing yourself properly, but to the point. I too wear polish on my fingers and toes. Darker on the toes, and lighter on my nails. People look at us as what they want us to be, not what we are. Wake up people, this is the 21st century. By the way join us Yahoo groups and be with people who appreciate you for who you are. An individual!!
Reply:Black nail polish would be good on a guy, I%26#039;ve received a mixture of responses from people in public but bright shades like red or pink just look odd on a guy.
Reply:The only time I%26#039;ve seen men wearing nail polish, it%26#039;s usually black polish, and the men/boys are--I don%26#039;t know--goth maybe? I don%26#039;t know the word for them, but I guess in their social circle, it%26#039;s considered normal. When I see men like this, I just accept it as part of their style, and go on about my business--I don%26#039;t think twice about it.

I%26#039;ve never seen a man wearing brightly colored polish--red, pink, etc., but if I did, I wouldn%26#039;t know what to think. If he was very effiminate and obviously homosexual, I%26#039;d probably dismiss it as considered normal in a homosexual society. If it was a heterosexual, white collar, average Joe wearing polish, I don%26#039;t know what I%26#039;d think. Probably, %26quot;Hmm, that%26#039;s strange. Wonder why he%26#039;s wearing pink nail polish?%26quot;

Personally, I love to see a man with clean, impeccable, manicured, buffed nails. Even clear polish is OK, as long as it%26#039;s not chipped.
Reply:How does your girl friend feel about you wearing nail polish ?

Get a manicure,but don%26#039;t wear polish.its not manly at all.
Reply:i dont know something about hot pink nail polish on a guy, just seems wrong to me..maybe im the only one.
Reply:ye w.e floats ya boat i wear ma bf boxers sumytms
Reply:men get clear polish or buff shine..its sexy to me..
Reply:I hear ya...anytime that people express their own personal style that doesn%26#039;t keep with mainstream ideals, then they are seen as the %26#039;other%26#039; or an %26#039;outsider%26#039;....it%26#039;s sad but all you can do is ignore the hypocrisy and enjoy yourself...btw what%26#039;s your fav color? :) i love a shiny silver tone myself.
