Does nail polish remover work (well) to thin out polish that has become thick?

years and years ago, I used to buy a brand of nail polish thinner but I can%26#039;t find it anymore (think they stopped making it)....

here try that also yes it can thin it but it will not work effectivly becasue it might take fo some of the polish in certain spots.
Reply:Watson%26#039;s may be difficult. Try John Little at Somerset or Robinsons where they have huge collection of Sally Hansen%26#039;s brand of products. That range is not bad %26amp; may have nail polish thinner
Reply:yes

you just need like 2 drops..i do it all the time cuz i have like 300 bottles of nail polish lol
Reply:I don%26#039;t know , but I have heard that keeping it in frig.

does the trick, good luck
Reply:You can use just a tiny bit of any brand non-aceton polish remover , but remember if you get too much in there , you ruined your polish .
Reply:I used to buy nail polish thinner also, but I have used remover to thin polish.

I%26#039;m not sure if they still make the thinner either.

Good Luck
Reply:I think the remover will do what it does best: remove. Maybe another company still makes it.
Reply:It does. You can also use rubbing alcohol. This is actually one of the ingredients in nail polish. I think about 5 drops of either should do. More or less depending on how thick it is. And use a medicine dropper if you have one.

To the girl below that said they both dull it...No. Like I said alcohol is one of the ingredients in nail polish, more of it will not dull it, but on the other hand make it a little shinier. At least this has been my real experience with it, she probably used water or something and thought it was alcohol :-p. They are NOT bad for the nail polish.
Reply:Don%26#039;t use the remover, find the thinning agent. Remover will make it opaque and %26quot;stripey%26quot;

Reply:yes it does I just did it last night
Reply:Don%26#039;t use polish remover or alcohol to thin nail polish. They will dull the color and finish. Get nail polish thinner at Sally Beauty Supply. Add a few drops and shake, then let it settle to remove the air bubbles. And clean the brush with thinner to get rid the heavier polish.
