Nail Polish for Muslim Women?

Well my father told me that nail polish is haram and I don%26#039;t get it. It didn%26#039;t say it in the quran or hadith cause this is new fashion and I don%26#039;t know why hinna is not haram. Is it because the alcohol or men don%26#039;t want women wearing nail polish. I wear nail polish when I have my (girl thing...yeah.) cause I%26#039;m not praying or touching the quran but why is it haram? I really love nail polish so can someone tell me if there is a way to wear nail polish or something that colours your nails that is not haram? (don%26#039;t mention hinna cause I already know that.) and why nail polish is haram? thanks!

No, nail polish is not haram. But like the others said, it doesn%26#039;t allow water to get on your nails to purify yourself. Even if you don%26#039;t pray, you should still make wadu in the shower after you get off of your %26quot;you know what%26quot; or else you are would still be %26quot;nigsa%26quot; (un-purified), and that%26#039;s when you need to remove the nail polish.
Reply:well ! u can put it when u have ur girl thing... , other wise it is haram cuz nail polish prevents the water from reaching the nail in wudu and u know no salah is corect if the wudua isn%26#039;t correct.


aslo, to be honest some ppl say it is wrong to do it and go out cuz this will be attracting to ppl particualrily men , and this is wrong.
Reply:it is not mentioned as haraam, some scholars say it%26#039;s not necessary and henna is enough and some say it is not haraam but prevents water reaching the nail during ablution wudhuu, so you need to remove it before wuduu for prayer.


you can wear it when not praying.

its nt haram to wear nail polish..as every1 mentioned it jus tht if prevents water...wat i ws taught...death can occur anytime...so wen som one dies they r washed n laid to rest..if som1 is wearing nail polish n dies..n then is given a shower the fardh wil not be complete as water doesnt enter..n when som1 dies ppl wnt really be checkin if thy r wearing nail polish n all..so its better not wear the...

Reply:When you wear nail polish, you adorn yourself, and this is not allowed, in Islam, to women to do in front of foreign people, you can do this only in front of your husband, your unmarriageable persons (mehrems like your father, brother, uncle,.....) or children those do not have sexual ability yet.


This is why nail polish is haram, from my VIEWPOINT.
Reply:They say it is haram because in wodo (when you wash for daily prayer) it stops water from reaching your nails.
